Pakistan 2009 - Nanga Parbat - Mazeno-La Round Trek
![]() Panorama view from Mazeno Pass After arriving on top of the Mazeno Pass (5200m) we couldn’t get to the other side as there was too much snow left. This would have made the descent too dangerous for the porters. We decided to return and drive to the other side of Nanga Parbat. Returning back to Tarashing was very rewarding as we could see the very wild and beautiful Rupal side from a different angle. On the way down we met plenty of mountain people and cattle. It’s one if not the most beautiful trek we did. Our guide Akhtar was excellent and we had a lot of fun with him. Actually we were a small but very good group. The cook Hassan and the assistant cook Ghulam were marvellous and so were the 15 porters. We are looking forward to meet them all again and hope the situation in Pakistan will get better as we really enjoy this country. ![]() Trek outline Members: ![]() ![]() ![]() Guide: Akthar.
